Values:
Ready to Serve
Intentional to Honor
Vigilant to Love
Eager to Empower
Resolved to Trust
Surrendered to God
Ready to Serve - Christ, himself, came as a servant of all (Matthew 20:26-28). He modeled the way for both the individual and the community. A church full of those who are ready and willing to serve is a church that God wants to use for his kingdom purposes (Isaiah 6:8; Luke 10:2).
Intentional to Honor - A strong community is one filled with people who honor each other. We intentionally seek out ways to build each other up, we do not tear down or gossip (Romans 12:10).
Vigilant to Love - Love is one of the clearest ways that we demonstrate we are Christ’s disciples (John 13:34-35). Satan’s desire is to divide and tear apart the church to render us ineffective (John 10:10). We need to be vigilant to stand against his schemes by choosing to love one another and lay down our lives for each other (1 Peter 4:8; Ephesians 4:2-3; Colossians 3:14).
Eager to Empower - We are not here to build our own kingdoms, we want to give the kingdom away by empowering others to go even further than we have gone in our faith (Hebrews 10:24-25; 2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Peter 4:10).
Resolved to Trust - Humanity’s biggest problem is that it has not believed that God can be trusted, so it has turned to idolatry which leads to further mistrust (Romans 1:21). We are going to be resolved to trust God in all things, rejecting any God-substitute or idolatry, even if we don’t always understand his ways (Proverbs 3:5-6; Romans 8:28).
Surrendered to God - We exist for him above all else (Colossians 1:16; 1 Peter 2:9). We are those who will be obedient to him in all we do. We will not be mere listeners, we will be doers of God’s word (John 14:23; James 1:22; Luke 11:28).
